I could go on about the crummy day I had (again!) at work, but it would involve boring details and a lot of whining. Suffice it to say, it sucked and I was ready to keel over when I got home. I felt so tired, the bone-deep fatigue that made me feel like curling into the fetal position and crying, but I couldn't do that because there was dinner to make and a baby to entertain and feed and put to bed. There were various text messages to Britt that went, "Please tell me you are on your way home!" and "For the love of God!" And it's not like he's feeling fantastic when he gets home, considering he works 10 hours a day. Now that I think about it, he's a really good sport.
So he comes home, and plays with Penny while I start dinner. I'm starting to enjoy cooking a lot more, which I never thought I would admit. It has been oddly satisfying, maybe because I am getting better at it. We try to plan our meals for the week and do our best to eat together, the three of us, as long as Britt gets home at an early enough hour before Penny has to go to bed.
Here's a little glimpse into our evening. Note the following:
1) Tacos rule.
2) Refried Beans on Penny's forehead.
3) Various attempts at eating pieces of corn tortilla.
4) Britt is really cute.
Then Penny went to bed without a fuss, and Britt and I watched an episode of Battlestar Galactica. So all in all, the crummy day ended well.

We had taco night on Monday night too! Ah, taco night. We haven't missed it since the great cow scare of '87. And yes, we are wearing masks and gloves in the house. I don't think they have hanta here in the midwest, but I'm sure there's plenty of leptospirosis to go around. Sorry about your crummy day. If it makes you feel better, on Sunday I had a total meltdown - Brandon and I were working on the house, I needed a bathroom, the one in the house isn't operational, and I went to three (three) different gas stations only to be told they don't have public bathrooms. Granted, I was really dirty and scary looking - they probably thought I wanted to shoot up in their bathroom. So I came back to the house, had a meltdown, and then Brandon drove me to the climbing gym (a few blocks away - why didn't I think of that?) so I could use the bathroom, and bought me a coke and a Heath bar. That boy understands the power of sugar.
Hey - also - is the title of this post a reference to Lily Allen? "You're not big, you're not clever, no you're not so, whatever..."
Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute!
Hey I.C: Nope, I wasn't really thinking about Lily Allen when I wrote that title, but I know the song of which you speak! :)
You're right. They're both cute.
